Catching a moving body

To catch a moving train, you begin by waiting beside the track. The earth is firm under your feet as you stand and wait. As the train approaches you begin to run, pushing the earth backwards. Rocks slide beneath your feet until the  moment comes when you make a grab for a rail and at that same moment you must launch yourself at the train and pull as hard as you can, substituting earth for train.
